JOES TO FACE MARIO

By admin, April 16, 2012 4:17 pm

Jon Jones was recently in the news for fighting the 134 pound journalist Mario Filho. Mario Filho has been known to report for a program on the Sensei Sports TV named Senseinocao. The basic TRP of the show is the fact that the fighters that are interviewed on each episode are given a certain time limit within which they have to knock out Mario Filho with their trade mark move. This time Jon Jones managed to make it to the fighters list and went off to have a brilliant fight with Mario.

Jon Jones had to take down Mario with a spin kick and an elbow punch within a span of two to three minutes and this was quite difficult for Jon Jones himself, who not only was unable to knock Mario out, but also faced a reverse counter kick from Mario in return to the flying knee attempt. Mario Filho did feel elated to have been fighting against one of the star players who is basically the light heavy weight champion within the octagon. There are very few who actually end up getting a chance to fight Jon Jones and Mario did feel proud and honored to get this opportunity. Mario does train a lot for his show, but all of it is jus on a recreational basis. The show has been quite a popular one with the fans who have managed to get to see their fighters with their star moves.

Mario himself is quite an excellent fighter and has managed to survive quite a number of rounds till date. Fighting Jon Jones was something he always dreamed of as a journalist and he eventually managed to survive the 2 minutes with him which was a tremendous achievement for Mario. Jon Jones also was quite contended with the show and the performance and hoped that he could participate on more such shows so that he could have a large crowd following who would get to see him on the television on other shows as well.

Fighting the likes of Mauricio or Lyoto Machida is something what Jon Jones trains for, but fighting the likes of Mario and others is actually a fun recreational venture which helps to bring out the fun element in fighting. Let’s hope success for Mario and his television venture and hope that there may be other fighters who are equally cooperative with him on his show.
